Has COVID-19 Effected Your Special Day?

WEDDING FACE MASKS

One of the most talked about pandemics in history has caused a whirlwind in the events industry. Within one week there was cancellations, postponements, hundreds of emails and phone calls before the ultimate shutdown.

Lucky for us many of our booked clients have pushed there weddings out to 2021 and I was running around ensuring them no penalties will be given and everything will still be ok. Once everything cooled off it made me realise, hey 2021 is going to be a big year and the to be bride and grooms have so much time to prepare their big day!

So, what can you prepare now with your free time to have a stress-free wedding next year?

THINK ABOUT THE PRACTICALS

Now that social distancing is a legal thing, you need to think about what the means for your wedding. Chairs for the ceremony will need to be 1.5M apart, hand sanitiser will need to be placed throughout the venue, even on tables so why not make a little DIY project out of it. Even consider putting on the invitations “If you are feeling sick or display mild symptoms please do not attend”.

Liketoknow.it come up with the idea of putting hand sanitisers as bonbonnieres at your wedding. They look cute, plus hand sanitiser is in high demand so anybody will be happy to take that little bottle with them to keep in their car, bag or at home.

ENTERTAINMENT

I bet your all wondering if the government doesn’t further ease restrictions what will we do because we can’t dance! Well, maybe it’s time we brought back in some of the old school things.

Karaoke is possible and can be done in duets or more as long as there is more than one microphone and the microphone is sanitised after each round. Why not do the shoe game or have competitions running during your event or possible games that involve everyone on each table? Look for inspiration on what other couples have done to add to your wedding or develop your own!

STAY CONNECTED

Stuck at home, but need to discuss important details with your bride team? Why not start a Facebook chat, page or group you can schedule face time calls, post inspiration and get help with items you may be stuck on? Being in isolation may suck right now, but you can still keep planning through the virtual world and even have a sneaky glass of wine or two while in your meeting!
