We all have the dream wedding dress in our heads – Let’s be honest, it’s been in your head since the age of four and now it’s time to go out there and get it but finding the dream dress can be stressful.

What does perfect mean to you? For many it’s their dress looking like the ones in the movies and for others it’s a dress that will make you appreciate those curves. SHOP EARLY, BUT NOT TOO EARLY

You got engaged and now it’s time to go shopping, some gowns can take months to create and that doesn’t include adding any accessories or having alterations done. It’s best to get a head start of the gown shopping to allow yourself enough time before the wedding.

However, if your engagement anticipates being a long one, give yourself some time to look around and do the research otherwise you may end up buying one that is out of style by the time of the wedding leaving you with a dress you hate or a last minute change – STRESSFUL!

THINK ABOUT YOUR SHOPPING GROUP

How hard is it to get your group to decide on a place to eat or place to drink? Imagine how hard it would be getting them to help decide on your dress! Think about your closest members of the group and invite them to go gown shopping. Yes, you love them all, but the three or four of the most important opinions to you will make your shopping trips that step less stressful.

LISTEN TO YOUR CONSULTANT

Take photos, dress inspiration and ideas to your appointment but listen to the advice given to you by the consultant. More than likely they have been in the position for years and it is their profession, they know the ins and outs of all wedding dresses.

If a dress looks to heavy, or not something you would normally pick, just try it on and have a twirl you never know the consultant’s suggestion may be your perfect dress.

REMEMBER YOU KNOW WHAT YOU TRULY LOVE

At the end of the day you will come home with five or six dresses you will love and others will have there’s but you need to remember to go with what you love and feels like that dream dress you have been waiting for, for years. Don’t worry about other people’s expectations, at the end of the day it’s your wedding and your photos you will be looking at for the rest of your life.
